Phormium Jester commonly known as Flax Lily is an upright, clump forming evergreen perennial with long, linear leaves which are bright pink coloured and margined with green. In July will occasionally produce these erect tubular red flowers held above the foliage. Planted in a variety of planting locations, garden types and planting schemes, often seen in architectural settings and low maintenance gardens.
Phormium Jester care
Plant the Phormium Jester in a sunny, partially shaded location with moist, well drained soil, protect from strong cold winds. Once the flower stems have flowered simply cut back the stems to the base of the plant to encourage a healthy more vigorous growth. Good for beginner and expert gardeners alike as needn’t require much help.
