Paeonia Doctor Alexander Fleming often known Chinese Peony, is a lovely hybrid between the well known two Peonies; Bunker Hill and Sarah Bernhardt. A clump forming, deciduous perennial with dark green deeply divided, almost lance like leaves which have fire red stems. In July the Paeonia Doctor Alexander Fleming will bloom these stunning fully double pink flowers which create a fantastic look across the plant.
Works well in a variety of locations suiting many planting schemes including flower beds and borders, cottage and informal gardens and often used as cut flowers as the double flowers are such a beauty.
Paeonia Doctor Alexander Fleming care
Plant the Paeonia Doctor Alexander Fleming in a sunny, warm area of the garden, growing well in moist, well drained soils sheltered from strong winds. Long living plant which dislikes being moved so be sure to plant in a long term position, or only move once. Low maintenance, simply removing the dead flowers once they begin to fade and cutting the plant back in autumn as the foliage begins to die down.
