Brunnera Macrophylla, commonly known as Siberian Bugloss is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial which forms a small clump of colour, with large, mid green heart shaped leaves. In April and May the Brunnera Macrophylla produces wonderful tall sprays of small, forget me not like, light blue flowers.

Being low growing the Brunnera is often used and planted in banks or slopes, borders and flower beds, also often planted in shaded underplanting of trees or rose bushes.

Brunnera Macrophylla care

The Brunnera Macrophylla thrives in a partially shaded, or fully shaded location, with moist, well drained soils. Very easy to grow the Macrophylla can be a fantastic plant for beginner gardeners and low maintenance gardens. Generally disease and pest free and requiring no pruning! Sometimes you may need to cut back any leaves which revert to green and divide every three years in autumn time. The Brunnera Macrophylla makes a must have plant for any garden!
