Kniphofia Caulescens, commonly known as red-hot poker is a beautiful tufted, evergreen perennial which has short, strap like leaves which are grey/green forming small tufts. In the months from August to October the Kniphofia Caulescens blooms tall erect stems which have a deep coral red flower turning a wonderful light green/yellow colour creating fantastic late summer interest.

A suitable perennial for a variety of locations, garden types and planting schemes. Some of which include flower beds and borders or gravel gardens where the striking colours are sure to make an impact.

Kniphofia Caulescens care

Plant the Kniphofia Caulescens in a sunny, partially shaded area within the garden with moist, well drained soil where it will thrive. If planting in partial shade, it can prevent the perennial from blooming as much. Generally disease free and minimal pruning makes this perennial perfect for gardeners of all abilities. Once flowered simply cut back the flower stems to encourage more healthy growth the following seasons.
