Acorus Variegatus, commonly known as Sweet flag is a compact, semi-evergreen grass perennial with striking long, narrow, creamy yellow and green leaves hence the name ‘variegatus’. Bearing flowers from June to July which provide interest in the summer months, shortly making way for clumps of tiny berries.
Acorus Variegatus Care
This Acorus thrives in full sun and boggy areas and is a perfect low maintenance grass perennial. Typically disease and pest free and requires pruning only after flowering where you simply need to cut the garden plant back.
We recommend dividing the Acorus Variegatus every few years to prevent congestion. Dividing regularly prevents congestion but also ensures a vigorous and healthy plant which continues to thrive for future years.
