Vinca Minor Atropurpureum commonly known as Lesser Periwinkle is a beautiful mat forming, evergreen shrub which has oval shaped dark green leaves on vibrant red and pink stems. In the months of April all the way through to September the Vinca Minor Atropurpureum will produce these stunning dark purple, 5 petalled flowers creating a lovely low colour.

Good all round garden plant that suits a variety, if not all locations of the garden! Nice low growing ground cover planted at border edges to create lower height but colour and foliage towards the front. Suits all planting schemes.

Vinca Minor Atropurpureum care

Plant the Vinca Minor Atropurpureum in a sunny, partially shaded area of the garden although will grow in shaded areas with moist well drained soils. Low maintenance, may need some slight protection from very strong winds but typically fine. In spring, it is recommended to cut back any of the unwanted shoots to prevent further growth of the plant where you are hoping it won’t grow. Good plant to shape and maintain into a space you need.
