Nandina Domestica Obsessed, commonly known as Heavenly Bamboo Seika, is a beautiful colourful, bushy evergreen shrub which has upright, bamboo like characteristics. Lace shaped leaves form in purple shades when young and the same in winter, however in autumn the foliage turns a striking fiery red and copper colour which create an exotic, warm look about the plant. In mid summer the Nandina Domestica Obsessed will bloom small clusters of star shaped pure white flowers which add extra interest to this already pretty plant.
With its striking all year round interest the Nandina can be planted in almost any location, suiting particularly well the mixed border or flower bed where the reds can create good contrast with other plants. Suitable for a range of planting schemes, other locations and garden types making a good all round shrub.
Nandina Domestica Obsessed care
The Nandina Domestica Obsessed thrives in sunny, partially shaded areas in the garden, sheltered from strong cold winds and with moist, well drained soil. Generally pest free and easy enough to maintain the Nandina can make a good plant choice for beginner and expert gardeners alike. Simply cut back any shoots that may spoil the framework of the plant in spring time and remove any dead or damaged shoots to encourage a healthy, bushy growth.
