Berberis Rose Glow, commonly known as Japanese Barberry is a bushy, deciduous, spiny shrub with wonderful deep purple foliage when young, marbled regularly in pink and white, turning entirely dark purple with age.

In April to May it produces wonderful tiny yellow flowers followed by bright red berries, a favourite with wildlife. With such beauty the Rose Glow can and is, commonly grown as a specimen shrub in flower beds and borders, further suited for a hedging or screening plant and in cottage or informal gardens.

Berberis Rose Glow care

Plant in a sunny or partially shaded location with moist, well drained soil where it will thrive, known to be resilient and able to grow nearly anywhere. Generally disease and pest free makes the Berberis Rose Glow easy to grow, with occasional pruning, a light prune will tidy up the growth and encourage its bushy state in autumn or winter. A perfect garden shrub for a low maintenance garden.
