Arundo Donax Variegata, commonly known as Variegated giant reed is an evergreen, bushy, hardy grass which has thick, green reeds, almost bamboo like and long strap like green leaves striped in a wonderful creamy-white colour. In late autumn, the months of September and October the Arundo Donax Variegata produces feathery white with purple tinged flowers. Often used as a good screening plant this Arundo can be planted anywhere, we recommend planting in architectural settings, cottage or coastal gardens and much more, a great bright grass for UK gardens!
Arundo Donax Variegata Care
Plant the Arundo Donax Variegata in a sunny location with moist, well drained soul where the grass will thrive. Perfect for a low maintenance garden the Variegata is generally disease and pest free and little pruning required. Perfect for both new and experienced gardeners. Simply cut off any dead leaves once they die back in the autumn months. The Arundo Donax Variegata can also be planted in large containers, able to be moved to greenhouses if the winters are cold.
