Agapanthus Africanus Alba commonly known as an African Lily, is a beautiful, clump forming, evergreen perennial with tall, erect stems bearing wonderful pure white umbels of trumpet shaped flowers, produced in late summer, providing colour when other plants begin to fall back. The flowers are held above narrow, strap like, leathery green leaves which contrast well with the white flowers.

The sun loving Agapanthus is a brilliant plant to plant in a large container to create a specimen perennial, although still looks great in borders, beds and any other sun rich location.

Agapanthus Africanus Alba Care

The Agapanthus Africanus Alba is well known for its easy to grow characteristics. Being generally disease and pest free and no pruning required this perennial makes a great beginner or experienced gardeners plant.

As the flower heads still have interest in winter months, the Alba requires no pruning! Be sure to water and feed the plant during its growing period through to flowering to really optimise the flowers produced. If planted in a container and the winter months are extremely cold, bring the container into a greenhouse or conservatory to protect.
