Spiraea Japonica Firelight commonly known as Japanese Spirea is a lovely, bushy, deciduous shrub which has oval shaped leaves, turning fantastic colours throughout the year. In summer the leaves are dark green, turning a red / purple colour in autumn and when young, developing a bronze / red tinge. The real star of the show here! In June the Spiraea Japonica Firelight will bloom small flower clusters, of red/pink which look stunning against the foliage.

This Spiraea is good for planting in a range of planting locations and schemes. Growing well on banks or slopes, flower beds and borders. And suiting informal, cottage, coastal and low maintenance gardens. A great all round garden plant.

Spiraea Japonica Firelight care

Plant the Spiraea Japonica Firelight in a sunny area of the garden, with partial shade and moist, well drained soil where it will thrive! An easy to grow and maintain plant, generally disease and pest free and only some pruning is needed. Prune back hard in spring just before the new growth begins to encourage a strong, bushy framework.
