Osmanthus Burkwoodii, commonly known as Burkwood Osmanthus is a bushy, evergreen shrub of rounded habit with dense, think foliage. The leaves are long, oval shaped and mid green which sit beneath the stunning flowers. In April and May the Osmanthus Burkwoodii will bloom jasmine like white flowers which are highly scented and a real interest with many.
With evergreen foliage, this shrub has year round interest. Planted in a variety of planting locations, garden types and planting schemes makes it a perfect garden plant for the majority of UK gardens. If planted in groups or a row, the Osmanthus will form a dense bush/screening plant, great for adding privacy to an area in the garden.
Osmanthus Burkwoodii Care
Plant the Osmanthus Burkwoodii in a sunny, partially shaded area of the garden with moist, well drained soil where it will thrive. Being generally disease and pest free and requiring only some pruning makes it a good choice for both expert and beginner gardeners. Remove any dead or damaged branches in late spring and apply a good amount of mulch to the base of the plant after, to provide the required nutrients to thrive.
