Nandina Domestica ‘Fire Power’ commonly known as Heavenly Bamboo is a small compact, bushy evergreen shrub which has compound oval shaped leaves which are light green and yellow coloured in summer months turning a hot fire red and orange in autumn and winter months creating a stunning display of colour all year round. In July the Nandina Domestica ‘Fire Power’ will bloom small conical clusters of pure white, star shaped flowers which add that something extra to this shrub in the summer.

Being such a stunning colour, this Nandina can be planted in a variety of planting locations, garden types and planting schemes where it will suit. Adding into a mixed bed or border will allow the fire red foliage to contrast well with other light, greener plants.

Nandina Domestica ‘Fire Power’ care

The Nandina Domestica ‘Fire Power’ thrives in a sunny, partially shaded area of the garden which has moist, well drained soil and a sheltered position from strong, cold winds. Generally pest free and minimal pruning makes a perfect candidate for both beginner and expert gardeners alike. Simply cut back any dead or damaged shoots and any which begin to grow out of the natural frame of the plant in spring.
