Mahonia X Media ‘Charity’ commonly known as Oregon grape is a bushy, upright evergreen shrub with pinnate leaves of 21 lance shaped leaflets with spiny edges. In the months from November all the way through until March the Mahonia X Media ‘Charity’ will bloom wonderful terminal racemes of light, summer yellow flowers across the plant which create a stunning display in a typically shaded area of the garden. Followed closely by dark purple berries which are a firm favourite with birds.

Making a wonderful specimen plant and a focal point for the garden where its evergreen foliage will continue to provide colour throughout the year. Often planted in flower beds and borders and cottage & informal gardens although suiting a more wide variety of locations and planting schemes.

Mahonia X Media ‘Charity’ care

Once established this shrub shouldn’t require any pruning although may simply need a light prune in springtime any dead or damaged plants.
