Griselinia Littoralis, commonly known as Broadleaf is a fast growing, bushy, evergreen shrub which has light green oval shaped leaves on yellow stems. In May the Griselinia Littoralis produces small green and yellow flowers, although the foliage is the real focus, closely followed by purple fruits.
Quickly establishing into a dense, bushy shrub, great for a light screening bush, plant close together to form this. Salt tolerant so can be planted in coastal gardens, and sometimes used against walls to brighten up a typically dull view.
Griselinia Littoralis care
Plant the Griselinia Littoralis in a sunny, partially shaded area of the garden which has well drained soils. Generally pest free and recommended pruning takes place in late spring. Simply cut back any dead or damaged growth to concentrate on a more healthy, bushy growth. Once pruned cover the base of the plant with quality garden compost or mulch. The Griselinia will naturally form a good bushy shape and generally doesn’t require the above pruning, which makes it great for both beginner and expert gardeners.
