Euonymus Fortunei ‘Golden Harlequin’, also known as Spindle is an evergreen, bushy shrub, low growing up to only 1m. The leaves are oblong shaped mid green, heavily mottled with a creamy white colour which become slightly tinged with pink in autumn and winter time. In April and May the Euonymus Fortunei ‘Golden Harlequin’ produces tiny green flowers which are just an added extra.
Being such a great all-round garden plant the Euonymus can often be planted anywhere in the garden, and most importantly any planting scheme. Can be grown in containers, banks or slopes, used as ground cover or if planted in groups can form a lovely, colourful hedge/screen.
Euonymus Fortunei ‘Golden Harlequin’ care
Plant in a sunny, partially shaded location with moist, well drained soil where it will thrive. Generally easy to grow making it a great low maintenance shrub for gardeners of any ability, including beginners and expert gardeners alike. Although the Euonymus doesn’t require pruning, we would recommend pruning any dead or damaged shoots and any which begin misshaping the shrub, which in turn will encourage a healthy bushy growth.
