Enkianthus Campanulatus, commonly known as Redvein Enkianthus is a deciduous, bushy, upright shrub with small mid green leaves, which in the autumn months turn a striking red, orange and yellow colour.
In May and June the Enkianthus Campanulatus produces these beautiful clusters of creamy pink coloured, bell shaped flowers. With the bloom in summer and the foliage turning stunning colours in autumn months this plant has two separate periods of interest! Recommended planting locations include low maintenance gardens, cottage or informal planting schemes and can make a suitable container shrub.
Enkianthus Campanulatus care
Plant the Enkianthus Campanulatus in a sunny location or in dappled shade and with moist, well drained soil where the shrub will thrive. Generally disease and pest free and requiring little to no pruning makes this shrub a perfect low maintenance garden plant. Only lightly prune if required in late winter or early spring, but cutting only lightly, any stray branches which will encourage healthy growth and a more bushy habit.
