Late in the year, October to January it bears these tiny creamy white flowers which produce a lovely fragrance. With a dense habit this shrub is often used for screening and hedging, with its attractive silver shimmer it adds something different.

The Elaeagnus X Ebbingei, thrives in sunny, partial shaded locations with moist, well drained soils. Can be fast growing perfect for group planting to form a hedge requiring occasional pruning, including a light prune in autumn to encourage and shape the shrub but more to encourage a healthy growth.
