Cotinus Coggygria commonly known as Smoke Tree is a bushy, deciduous shrub which has mid green, rounded leaves which turn a lovely hot mix of yellow, orange and red colours in autumn months. In May through until July the Cotinus Coggygria will produce these wonderful feathery like clouds of pink turning grey flowers which are really just an added bonus to this already interesting plant.
Can be a good plant for a variety of locations including mixed flower beds and borders, and can be used as cut flowers. Suiting many other locations and garden types and planting schemes, suiting nearly all gardens.
Cotinus Coggygria care
Plant the Cotinus Coggygria in a sunny, partially shaded area of the garden with moist, well drained soil where it will thrive. Known to be easy to grow and great for both beginner and expert gardeners alike. Generally disease and pest free and requiring only occasional pruning also makes for a good low maintenance plant. Naturally the plant will grow into a good, strong framework however in spring may occasionally require a very light prune to simply remove the branches growing out of the shape and any which have become dead or damaged which will encourage a healthy growth.
