Cortaderia Pumila commonly known as Pampas Grass is a tufted, evergreen grass plant which has long, narrow dark green leaves which form a tight clump of foliage, moving freely in the light winds. In August and September the Cortaderia Pumila will produce these tall erect stems with white/cream feather like plumes, freely borne. A generally smaller, more compact variety makes the Pumila a great plant to be grown in smaller gardens where it can provide all year round interest. Furthermore, suiting a variety of other locations including flower beds and borders, many planting schemes and garden types. Being awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit showcases the fantastic, all round properties of this beautiful grass plant.
Cortaderia Pumila care
Plant the Cortaderia Pumila in a sunny, warm area of the garden with moist, well drained soils where it will thrive. Planting with some space to flourish can make a great specimen plant which will add extra interest to your garden. Generally disease and pest free and easy to grow make good garden plants for beginner and expert gardeners alike. Simply cut out the previous years stems, and comb any dead foliage in late winter to encourage a more healthy, bushy growth.
