Corokia Virgata Sunsplash commonly known as just Corokia is a compact, upright evergreen shrub which has broad, lance shaped leaves coloured mid green-grey with irregular margins of pale yellow, occasionally tinged with orange. In June and July the Corokia Virgata Sunsplash will produce clusters of small yellow, star shaped flowers which are lovely and fragrant, followed closely by orange fruits in autumn months.
A good all round garden plant that can be planted in almost any location, if planted in groups the Sunsplash can form a low, informal hedge. Whereas can also be planted in a container where it will grow well in gardens without grass or patios in a sunny area.
Corokia Virgata Sunsplash care
Plant the Corokia Virgata Sunsplash in a sunny, partially shaded, sheltered area with well drained soil where it will thrive. The plant likes a sheltered area from strong cold winds. An easy to grow shrub, generally disease and pest free and requiring minimal pruning making a good choice for expert and beginner gardeners. In winter simply remove any dead or damaged branches to encourage a healthy, bushy growth.
