Cornus Flaviramea commonly known as Golden Twig Dogwood is a pretty, deciduous suckering shrub which has oval shaped mid green leaves which turn shades of red and orange in autumn time. When the leaves fall they reveal the striking green/yellow stems which are added interest through the winter months. In May and June the Cornus Flaviramea will produce small clusters of pure white flowers.
Often grown alone where it will grow into a good specimen plant and will suit almost any location, garden type and planting schemes making a great all round garden plant. Can be grown in a container for patios and gardens without grass.
Cornus Flaviramea care
Plant the Cornus Flaviramea in a sunny, or partially shaded area, with moist well drained soils where it will thrive, although will cope in most soil types. Generally disease and pest free and typically low maintenance makes the Cornus good for gardeners of all abilities. In March cut the stems back hard to around 5cm above ground level and apply a generous amount of mulch to the base which will help the plant thrive in the upcoming seasons.
