Cornus ‘Elegantissima’ or more commonly known as Red Barked Dogwood is a bushy, suckering deciduous shrub which has striking red stems and green/grey tinged, oval shaped leaves which have a soft white margin on them. In the months of May and June it will bloom these tall flower heads of creamy white colour, closely followed by white berries creating a wonderful display. When the leaves fall the Cornus displays its vibrant red stems which are one of the many reasons the Elegantissima is grown.
Making a good low maintenance garden plant, planted in a range of locations, garden types and planting schemes a great all round garden plant.
