Cistus Corbariensis commonly known as Rock Rose is a lovely, bushy evergreen shrub which will form a dense structure. With mid green leaves which are wavy and wrinkled edges, creating a wonderfully, different display. In June and July the sun loving Cistus Corbariensis will produce wonderful masses of pure white flowers with a golden yellow centre from dark red buds. Being evergreen this Cistus does provide all year round colour with the added bonus of these pretty flowers.
A great all round garden plant that can suit a variety of planting locations, including being grown in containers where it will grow well and be able to grow in gardens without grass, patios and even a sunny, sheltered balcony. Further suiting many garden types and planting schemes, making an especially big impact in rockery planting.
Cistus Corbariensis care
Plant the Cistus Corbariensis in a warm, sunny area of the garden, sheltered from strong cold winds with well drained soils where it will thrive and grow into a healthy garden plant. Generally disease and pest free and only requiring very light pruning makes the Cistus Corbariensis a very easy garden plant to grow, perfect for gardeners of all abilities. Not coping well from hard prunes, the Cistus may sometimes need a very light prune directly after flowering to remove any damaged branches, or any which grow out of the natural framework.
