Chaenomeles Kinshiden commonly known as Japanese Quince is a pretty, deciduous shrub which has a spreading habit and dark green, oval shaped leaves which are glossy to see and slightly toothed on the edge when touched. In the months of April to May the Chaenomeles Kinshiden will produce these beautiful clusters of double pale yellow/lime green coloured flowers which are a truly stunning site. Often known as a good, photogenic plant and a firm favourite every single year. The flowers are often closely followed by bright green, edible fruits.

A good all round garden plant that can be planted in a range of locations, suiting many garden types and planting schemes. A real gem for the garden!

Chaenomeles Kinshiden care

Plant the Chaenomeles Kinshiden in a sunny, partially shaded area of the garden with moist, well drained soils where it will thrive. An easy to grow garden plant, that can be a good choice for beginner and expert gardeners alike. Only light prune the plant after flowering, removing any dead or damaged branches. If you are looking to hard prune, do this in winter months and remove the congested branches to the trunk.
