Cestrum Cretan Purple, commonly known as ‘Bastard Jasmine’, is a fast-growing evergreen shrub that is native to the island of Crete in Greece. The shrub can reach up to 1.5 metres tall and wide, making it a great option for landscaping and backyard gardens.

Cestrum Cretan Purple care

Plant the Cestrum Cretan Purple in a sunny, partially shaded area of the garden with moist, well drained soil where it will thrive. The Cestrum is an easy to grow garden plant that is generally disease and pest free and requiring minimal pruning. A good choice for beginner and expert gardeners alike. In spring it is advised to prune lightly any dead or damaged branches which mis-shape the plant to encourage a healthy, bushy growth.
