Buddleja Davidii White Profusion often known as Butterfly bush is an elegant, bushy deciduous shrub with long arching branches and long pointed mid green leaves, which turn a summery yellow in autumn months.
In July through to September it produces wonderful erect, flower spikes of pure white which are scented, and a firm favourite with butterflies and other insects, hence the name ‘butterfly bush’. A fantastic wildlife magnet, often planted in flower beds, borders or low maintenance wildlife garden schemes.
Buddleja Davidii White Profusion care
This Buddleja thrives in sunny, partially shaded locations with moist, well drained soil. Generally this shrub is disease free and only requires little pruning. We normally prune these in the month of March by removing the previous years growth encouraging a more vigorous growth and more flower plumes in its next season. We then surround with good quality mulch and garden compost.
