Bergenia Bressingham White, commonly known as Elephant ears is a clump forming, evergreen perennial which has large, leather round green leaves, often referred to as the ‘Elephant Ears’ which often turn slightly red in autumn months.

In March and April it bears these beautiful masses of upright, white flower spikes which really brighten up the plant above the dark green foliage. This Bergenia makes a fantastic ground cover plant. Suitable planting locations include flower beds, flower borders, banks and slopes or underplanting to create more colourful interest.

Bergenia Bressingham White care

Plant the Bergenia Bressingham White in a sunny, partially shaded location with moist well drained soil where it will thrive. The perennial doesn’t fair well in extremely hot and dry locations. Use repellant where necessary, often disease free and requiring minimal pruning, the Bergenia Bressingham White is a must for a low maintenance garden. We would recommend to prune the flower heads after flowering whilst also pruning any foliage requiring attention. Divide in clumps when necessary to encourage healthy growth.
