Berberis Helmond Pillar, commonly known as Barberry is an upright, deciduous shrub with dark red/brown coloured leaves turning red in autumn with dark brown stems. Within April and May the Berberis Helmond Pillar produces wonderful clusters of yellow flowers, closely followed by small red berries in autumn.
Perfect for pollinators this Berberis makes a great addition to any garden, with recommended planting locations such as flower beds, flower borders and a good accent plant, when planted around lower growing plants.
Berberis Helmond Pillar care
The Berberis Helmond Pillar is known as a low maintenance shrub; generally disease and pest free and requiring little pruning. We recommend pruning in autumn or winter after the fruits, but light pruning any stray areas to encourage shape and upright growth. Plant the Berberis Helmond Pillar in a sunny position with moist, well drained soil where it will thrive, ideal low maintenance garden plant and a favourite with gardening professionals.
