In August and September it produces beautiful small, urn shaped deep, rose pink flowers, alongside red ‘strawberry’ like fruits which grow from the previous years flowers.
This evergreen shrub makes a lovely container plant in a sunny location and a low maintenance garden.
Arbutus Unedo Rubra Care
This Arbutus thrives in a sunny location with moist, well drained soil. The Arbutus should naturally form a beautiful shape although occasionally will require a light prune to help maintain a suitable shape for you and your gardens preference. Young plants are often frost-tender and more mature plants are frost hardy.
