The Abelia Edward Goucher or commonly known as just Abelia, is a semi-evergreen, hardy shrub, with lovely glossy green foliage tipped with white edges portraying a brighter colour. These leaves slowly tinge to a dark purple to a light red in the autumn months.
Flowering from June to October it produces stunning lavender / pink coloured, funnel shaped flowers which have light orange throats, which then produces a lovely, refreshing scent. Although the leaves and funnel shaped flowers look delicate this plant proves its worth, hardy in most areas and stands against colder harsh conditions well.
Abelia Edward Goucher Care
Produces the best flowers in full sunlight, being generally pest and disease free and an easy to grow shrub in most gardens. As a low maintenance shrub with hardy nature, and able to withstand some winds, the Abelia Edward Goucher is a fantastic addition to any garden, perfect in cottage planting schemes or coastal schemes.
